PLANNING STARTS OCTOBER 2020
CHAIR POSITIONS REQUIRE SOME EXPERIENCE IN DOG SPORTS.
COMMITTEE MEMBERS DO NOT NEED ANY PRIOR DOG CLUB / DOG SHOW EXPERIENCE.
Some jobs get completed early and some will be worked throughout the next two years.
Some help requires volunteers to attend the shows and others are done before the show starts and no attendance is necessary.

CHAIR POSITIONS
Like Leading Groups and working with outside experts to pull off the impossible? PRIMARY CHAIR POSITIONS
#1 SPECIALTY SHOW CHAIR: OPEN
Works with all the Committee Chairs and is the Primary Point BETWEEN All Breed Club(s), SSCA and RRSSC BOARD.
This person can be a Figure Head OR they Can Be an ACTIVE PARTNER IN THE PLANNING & EXECUTION OF THE NATIONAL
CAN NOT SHOW / OWN / CO-OWN A DOG THAT IS SHOWING IN CONFORMATION or ANY OTHER VENUE ON THE DAY OF THE NATIONAL SPECIALTY
Must be a Member of SSCA
Ensures all Contracts / Documents / Reports / Accountings are completed on time

#3 EVENTS / EDUCATION CO-CHAIR: OPEN
Logistics & Planning is responsible for:
CONTRACTS & PLANNING
(Secretary is ex-officio member of this committee) Volunteers: Rene Nunzir
NEEDS 3 Additional Volunteers
Visit, review and select Site facilities
- Visit, review and select a host Hotel
- Hire Judges / Sweeps
- Coordinate and negotiate with the Show Secretary for services
- Prepare all Contracts, AKC Paperwork, Schedule of Events
- Work with All-Breed Host Club Show Chair (when applicable)
- Establish a Budget
- Meet all AKC, Show Secretary deadlines for document filings
- Post Show submissions and reports and accountings
- Works with SSCA for Events / Schedules, etc
LOGISTICS
- Perform a Site Survey and ensure that the following are in place
- Grounds/ Ring set-up/take down
- RVs (Parking)
- Airport / Local Transportation
- Hearing Committee
- Emergency Planning (Veterinarian / EMT)
- Honey Pots; RV pumper service
- Grooming Area (free or cost to users);
- Electric; Bathing Station(s)
- Shower facilities for humans
- Overnight security for buildings / facility
- Wi-Fi / Connectivity
- Lighting (Photographer / Videographer)
- Day Parking
HOSPITALITY UMBRELLA 6 – 10 Volunteers Needed RESPONSIBLE FOR:
TROPHIES / PRIZES
- Decide on Prizes (Theme, Style)
- Develop Event Logo (must be pre-approved by SSCA Board)
- Select Vendors with Ways n Means Team for Specialty Store Items
- Prepare Information for Premium List / Trophy / Prize Descriptions / Sweeps Procedures
- Judges and Judges’ Hospitality (Gayle Stillwell at SSCA handles correspondences w/Judge)
- GUEST Registration / Guest Bags
- Decorations (Ringside, Banquet, Photo area, other venues)
MEALS
- Checking in guests at Meals / Banquet / Dinner / Ensure Ringside Hospitality
- Member Reservations (Meals, Getting to Know You, Snacks)
- Meet & Greet – Event Planning
WAYS AND MEANS
(Club Treasurer is ex-officio member of this committee for Regional Specialties)
CHAIR: Gayle deHAAS (Must be a member of SSCA and pre-approved by SSCA Board)
- Collects all monies for Trophies Sponsorships / Store
- Catalog Advertising, Catalog Sales, and Post Show Catalog Orders
- Collect all Auctions and Raffle items
- Day of Show-Trophy Display Set-up, Post Show-Engraving, Storage
- Solicit Donations / Sponsorships
PUBLICITY
(the Technology/Communications VP is ex-officio member of this committee)
- Publicity – Updates to SSCA for Newsletter/Magazine
- Club Newsletter
- Website Coordinator
- Mailings to Members who are not on E-Mail
EVENTS / EDUCATION CHAIR POSITION: OPEN
6 - 12 Volunteers Needed
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
PERFORMANCE EVENTS
- Companion Dog Events (Obedience, Rally, & Agility, Barn Hunt)
- Working Dog Events (Specialty carting, Draft Test, Water Test, CGC, Any Seminars)
- Trophy Set-Up on Supported Entry Days
- Support day of event flow
- Provide SSCA Show Chair with Event results
- Ensure Hospitality has Judge/Ring Steward Cooler, Drinks & snacks as ordered
HEALTH/EDUCATION EVENTS
- Set-up Meeting Rooms / AV Equipment (ensure “needs” are identified and in place)
- Have Copies of Host Hotel Reservations, Contracts / POC
- Work with SSCA Health POC for Needs/Events
- Ensure SSCA Members’ Training Venue is identified by topic / Arrange for Venue with Logistics/Planning
- Ensure Judges Education Event needs are identified and in place
- Ensure Ringside Mentoring area is established
DAY OF SHOW COORDINATION
SSCA SHOW CHAIR
must be in attendance this day 2 – 6 Volunteers
- Work with Show Photographer (designate area for “win” photos w/decorations & Signs)
- Monitor the Events via Text or Walkie-Talkie with each member of the Show Committee
- Conformation Events (ensure good flow; support exhibitors, ring steward & Judge last minute needs)

- Ensure roped area for Judges Education / Ringside Mentoring is not encroached upon
- Ensure roped area Video Team Space
- Support Ring Side Hospitality / Cooler/Snacks for Judge, Steward is correct
- POC A/B Club Chair, Superintendent, AKC Rep at event
